Judicial Rehabilitation Assistance Program

Building Character. Creating Change.

The YMCA of East Tennessee’s Juvenile Rehabilitation Assistance Program (JRAP) gives youth a second chance to make positive changes in their lives. In partnership with the Juvenile Court System, JRAP provides structure, mentorship, and accountability for young people referred through the court system — helping them make better choices and build brighter futures.

Program Highlights:

  • Initial Assessment and Personalized Intervention Plans
  • Support Services like job training with a focus on emotional regulation and building interpersonal skills
  • Case managers who monitor outcomes and help serve as advocates in the legal system and with social service agencies

Why It Matters

JRAP is more than a program — it’s a lifeline. For many youth, this is their first experience being supported rather than punished. By focusing on empathy, leadership, and community connection, JRAP helps participants develop confidence and character that last a lifetime.

JRAP Program Outcomes:

  • Improved behavior and school performance
  • Positive relationships with mentors and peers
  • Increased self-esteem and responsibility
  • Lower rates of repeat offenses
