Reach & Rise Mentoring
Building Stronger Futures Through Connection
Reach & Rise® is a national YMCA therapeutic mentoring program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. At the YMCA of East Tennessee, trained adult mentors work in groups with youth ages 6–17, helping them build confidence, improve relationships, and reach their full potential.

About Reach & Rise®
Many youth in our community face challenges that can make it difficult to succeed — from family transitions to academic struggles or social isolation. Reach & Rise® was created to provide these children with a trusted mentor who believes in them, listens without judgment, and helps them see their own strength.
The YMCA matches each youth with a carefully screened, trained mentor who meets with them weekly for meaningful activities, conversations, and skill-building experiences.

How It Works
- Youth Enrollment: Participants are referred by parents, schools, or community agencies.
- Mentor Matching: Each small group is paired with a compatible mentor based on interests and goals.
- Weekly Meetings: Mentors and mentee groups meet consistently for activities and guided conversations.
- Ongoing Support: YMCA staff provide training, supervision, and regular check-ins to ensure success.
