Join us for the Mighty Marlins Kids Triathlon, a Personal Best Racing event, at the Cansler Family YMCA in Knoxville! Designed for kids of all ages and experience levels, this fun and encouraging race gives every child the chance to swim, bike, run, and celebrate crossing the finish line.

Whether your child is a first-time triathlete or ready for a bigger challenge, there’s a division for them:

Sailfish Marlins Division
A non-sanctioned race designed for kids who are still building confidence in the water and on the race course. Swim aids such as water wings, kickboards, or parent assistance are allowed.
• 25-yard swim (swim aids allowed)
• Short bike loop (training wheels allowed)
• 0.5-mile run

Red Marlins Division (Mid Sprint)
• 50-yard swim
• 1.3-mile bike
• 0.5-mile run

Blue Marlins Division (Long Sprint)
• 75-yard swim
• 2.5-mile bike
• 1-mile run

Race Schedule

7:00 AM – Packet pickup opens
7:50 AM – Pre-race meeting for Blue Marlins
8:00 AM – Blue Marlins race begins (pool time trial start)
8:45 AM – Red Marlins race begins following a brief pre-race meeting
9:20 AM – Sailfish race begins
9:45 AM – Awards ceremony

Packet pickup will be available from 7:00–9:00 AM at the Cansler Family YMCA. Parking is available at the YMCA in designated areas.

After picking up packets, participants will walk through the transition area. For the Blue and Red Marlin divisions, parents will not be permitted inside transition, but plenty of race volunteers will be available to help athletes. Sailfish parents may enter the designated transition area to assist their child.

All finishers will receive a finisher medal! Awards will be presented to:

• Top three overall boys and girls in each division
• Top three male and female finishers in each age group

5 and under | 6–7 | 8–10 | 11–12 | 13+
